Snake Draft Strategy: Ugly But Effective

But, in the spirit of "business" and making loot, it's an article that can and will make you money should you decide to be a scumbag like myself. Let the shenanigans begin!
Note: This strategy applies more to head to head snakes in daily/weekly fantasy leagues than anything else.
When you sign up for a head to head league, it's mano y mano, me vs. you, man against man.
I'm not there to make friends, I'm there to draft a good team, destroy you and get paid.
With that being said, I'm going to employ every strategic maneuver at my disposal in an effort to pry your cash out of your mitts.
My knowledge of the game needs to be superior, I've got to be up to date on injuries, lineups, who's hot and who's not... and I'm going to be the worm in your apple.
Huh? What do worms have to do with fantasy snake drafts? Plenty! When you've grabbed my snake off of the board and enter the draft room, you have 5 minutes or so to get your players in qeue. I'm going to politely greet you and ask you how you're doing today. Then I'm going to ask you if you saw so and so's 99 yard kickoff return for a touchdown last week. Then I'm going to ask you where you're from. Then I'm going to ask you how long you've been playing on the site.
... and then it's draft time.
I've effectively been a (polite) pain in your ass during the whole 5 minutes that you had to put your players in qeue. An astute daily fantasy drafter will ignore any and all chat prior to a draft starting. Heck, some don't even talk at all (I call these players "rocks"). Most are more than happy to chat and so am I, as I already put my players in qeue before you showed up!
During the draft, I'll comment on how you're making good picks and how you took the player I wanted! You'll be feeling good about yourself and I'll be feeling even better about you as you're making rash decisions as the clock ticks down as i continue to get in your eye, which undoubtedly leads to you not making as effective picks as you would had you never engaged in conversation with me. Yeah, there are guys who can think on their feet and this tactic may not work with them, but, like anything in betting, I'm happy to make things work 60% of the time as this makes me a very profitable long-term winner.
I'll even tell you that I think you're beating me up and that you're probably going to double my score. Anything it takes to keep you engaged focusing on who you already took, not who you should be taking in the next round.

It just doesn't seem possible. The answer? One tiny bite at a time. He penetrated that sucker just like I did you, little by little.
